Reading these posts about the heat and humidity (we have the snow and the cold) I think about what the settlers had to endure. They were hardy folks, compared to them I feel like a sissy! But I love the modern conveniences!
My Granny used to say, "There was nothing good about the good ol' days!" She preferred her modern conveniences, too. She just wouldn't turn on the AC much because of electric bills.
