Actually Florida lost the title of Lightning Capital of the World a few years ago to a town on the coast of Africa; where most the storms resonate from that create the hurricanes. BUT during summer storms I would swear we are still the lightning capital!! :-) Have never experienced anything like it!!

The coast of FL we live on is known for the many treasures on sunken ships that were brought here during the 17th & 18th centuries by ships, including pirate ships.
Like SewMomma66 mentioned, Florida is known as the “Lightening Capital of the World.”
