A few days ago, I posted a picture of a quilt top that my 13 year old granddaughter had gotten sewn together in 2 days. Some very long hours sitting at the sewing machine, but we had a time frame to work with. The pattern is Mr Roosevelt's Necktie and I found it on Quilter's Cache, and modified it somewhat. The finished size is 70x90.

After she got it put together, then came my job, and with her help, we got it sandwiched and I started quilting. I spent 2 days getting the quilting done. I just did the echo stitching [I think that is what it is called] and that meant that with each unit, the quilt had to be turned 360 degrees on the machine. Needless to say, my arms got very tired.

Once I finished that on Thursday, I went to my fabric to start cutting the binding strips, and guess what, I didn't have enough fabric. PANIC!!!!!

But my DH was going to town, 30 miles away, on Friday morning, so I sent a couple of swatches of material with him, and called the gal at the fabric store. Once he got there, she called me back, and said that they didn't have the exact purple and no floral at all, but she did find a mottled purple which she thought would work, and DH said that it would be perfect. She was hesitant with his endorsement, but I told her that he is getting better with his judgements, and I trusted him, and so I sewed till midnight getting the binding on.

This was the first pic I posted with my granddaughter
