Alterations are not difficult. Mostly you add a little to a seam or take some away. Even in High school (50 years ago) I had to alter patterns because I was one size on the bottom half and smaller on the top half. Patterns are always an "ideal" size and meant to be adapted to each individual. The jacket is very charming. I wish you much joy with your sewing it.
