Well I started out with Janome 9000 (which I still have) 15 yrs ago and embroiedery many things for gifts. Then I upgranded to the 10001 (yes a lot of money) but I love it. I download patterns off the internet and over all have never had a problem with it other than operator error LOL. I love my Janomes. My other one is the 3500 that I take to class as it is smaller and more manageable. but you are going to get all kinds of thoughts about many machines so one of the most important to remember is your dealer. Do they give good service, classes and are there for you when you need them. Good Luck
I have a Janome 9000 that I got previously loved. Someone had traded it in and I got it for under $1000. For what I do with it, I love it. I want to upgrade someday but I'll save up for the one I want or maybe I will find an upgrade previously loved again in the future. Here's a couple of quilts that I made with my J-9000
