Joy, I just saw your post. Yes, there is another way.On this one , I cut most of the old shade off and sewed the quilted shade on it.

Since the shade is now thicker, it will only roll up a little bit, so now I have the idea to but one of those rods with the fancy balls on the ends and clip the shade to the rings on the rod and that will look much better and I can slide the shade to the side when the sun goes away.

I finished these just in time, it 98 degrees right now or feels like it and it's cool by the window. I am not getting the stain glass effect on the window shade because I used thicker batting but I don't mind at all.....
