I "walk" the fabric. I simply stand at the narrow end of my cutting mat, cut as far up as I can reach, then move the fabric down. I do about a 4-6" overlap with the ruler so it lines up well with the previous cut edge and cut again. I don't fold it because I always get the wobbles. I have ripped, and it works well with some fabrics, but the treads pull too hard and mess up the edges too bad on others. (I do generally tear if I need to get the grain perfect.
