After a traumatic brain injury, migrains are horrible. I have tried total blackness, cold and hot washcloths, no noise, over the counter remedies and so forth. The only thing that does offer relief is a shot at the emergency room and sleep after for hours. The prescribed medication Imatrex offers relief, but it only eases the pain enough to sleep it off. But I highly recommend the shots or the prescriptions because they at least let me have enough relief to stop me from cutting off my brain!
