I love love love anything plastic w/ a lid now that I moved to the south! You have to cover everything to keep it from going stale (limp) or keep out bugs.
I also use them for everything from freezing/storing people food/pet food to craft/sewing, inside/outside storage. A lot of larger lids are thick enough to make nice quilt templates from. kids can play w/them - like when we were young and played w/ empty boxes. They are teriffic for packing up a "surprise" picnic (if we travel I always pack a cooler w/ fresh finger foods all cut up: carrots, celery, grn peppers, crackers, cheese, pepperoni, bread cubes. These plastic containers are perfect.)
Another great container is beneful dog food containers - nice lunch size containers for taking anywhere.
not to metion using in a sewing rm! sort bobbins by color, sort pins, sort fabric samples anything smaller and not flat enough to go into a folder.
Also, in early winter I start saving all plastic containers cus by Jan 1 I am starting masses of seeds in my kitchen. Great seed starters sharet
