No, we didn't have a funeral for him. We kept his shell in his memory. Maybe someday another of our crabs will call it home. This one was actually the shell we'd brought the "other" crab (Krunchy) home in. He died after about 6 months and Krusty took his (or her??) shell. So, Krusty will live on in our memories especially when we see the shell in the crab bowl.
I used to bury pets in a flower garden that had a picket fence around it my husband built for me. Everyone always asked me if it was a graveyard anyway bc of the fence...
Everytime I get something going, there was always dozer work or something being built. I barely have flower beds anymore. I've gotten a few started over the past couple of years since we've been in our house. I'd like to plant a dogwood tree where Lady is buried. (She's our dog we lost last year).
Pet Sematary, the book, has now come to my mind.
