We acquire things that we like. These crafts, beads, fabrics, quilt books, artwork for our walls, etc. bring US pleasure. WE enjoy our 'things.' After we are gone, our families might sell them, use them, or give away to someone else who would enjoy them. But we have accomplished what WE wanted - acquiring some things we like, that brought us happiness, filled our time, and let us create. That's how I look at it.
My husband and daughter tell me that all the time. My daughter wants her father and I to enjoy our hobbies, etc and then she and her brother will take care of things "later". Still feel guilty sometimes.
