Took Home Ec in 7th grade. Made a nice dress, but my mother had to take it all apart. It was to small. That was 41 yrs. ago. I tried off and on all these years to make some clothes, and I could never adjust the pattern to fit me. However I did sew dresses and doll clothes for my daughter when she was little. Instead of sewing I did every other needle craft, crochet, knit, needlepoint, petty point, cross stitch. I learned to quilt in the 80's but did that all by hand. It wasn't until 2 years ago that I started machine quilting. And I love it now. I've made valances for every house I ever lived in, because I like the longer length and I could choose my own fabric. But that was all just straight stitching.
