Yes I do - I've PMd you Ro but if you want to give me a ring, perhaps I can talk you through it. My phone number is on my website, lnk in my signature line. :-D
OK - just had a look at mine - it does say P-2 on it so maybe you have the wrong foot. It is impossible to fit it incorrectly, ie without the bar over the needle screw as suggested on the other thread you posted. Changing the pressure of the foot (the dial slightly above and to the left of the tension disc) is barely perceptible in the height of the foot from the bed of the machine so it's not that. (FYI - for FMQ I have the foot pressure around 1 though it varies with type of wadding, thread etc - I play on a practice sandwich to adjust this for every project) Soooo - the only solution is that you aren't lowering the foot completely. There are three positions - high, mid and down. Raise it high as you can, down one click then right down. But this would only be if the foot fitted - sounds like yours is for a machine with a different shank.
As I said in my PM - I'd invest in the convertible foot set from Sew Devine. I know it's £39 but it's worth it - you get much nicer stitches without that hopping motion. Or if you don't mind a closed toe, you could get that one for £19. :-D
