okay next time you go to the fabric store... drop him off at the golf store and then you drive to the fabric store... or find a friend who loves fabric as much as you do... my husband does not complain a minute about the fabric I buy either at the store or online ..He knows that I will make something wonderful for him or for our family....
If that does not work look him straight in the eye and ask him how much he spends on his hobby!!
