I pretty much quit for about 5 years after I closed my shop. I was just so burned out from running it, a long divorce, moving cross country, needing and finding a job I didn't like all that much just to pay the mortgage and eat, and the grief of the loss of the marriage and the business. I just couldn't make myself design or quilt; but I maintained my stash which had been substantially increased as I closed the shop, packing and moving it with me.
I'm grateful I did that because one day I woke up after the third move and made three baby quilts in a week. I was back in business!
