I don't know about so many inches below your elbow but I'm 5'2'' and the kitchen bench is about the right height. I don't cut out there though. I have a 6' x 30" table on which I have my 6600 and my embroidery machine. I also have a small table 4' x 2'. I can raise either one by placing an ordinary house brick under each leg and they are just the right height. I find that the height is most important for my back.
