I, too, keep myself on a type of budget. I do housecleaning for people with lake rental homes. The money I earn from this is my quilting money. So, I have to be careful. Some months are abundant and others, scant. We are debt free and I do use a credit card, but reimburse hubby for what I spend on quilting. I only try to buy when I have a project in mind, but some fabrics are just too irresistible. I also, have a friend, who was cleaning out her stash and shared with me. Her "old" fabrics were all "new" to me.
