by all means, try the CPAP. long term effects of sleep apnea can include cognitive difficulties ( having problems thinking, remembering, reasoning? they all can be a part of it.) there can be problems with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, heart attack, chest pain, stroke, increase in traffic accidents, poor work performance. it's sometimes a bother to get used to the machine, but it can be a life changing thing.
