We keep an emergency kit on hand at all times. Canned foods for 7 days. Several gallons of water. Food for all the critters. Prescriptions are kept in a kit that we can grab quick and add to everything. When the freezer gets low we fill the empty spaces with milk jugs of water. They'll keep things cold if the power goes out.

We had power go out for a winter storm a couple years back. My husband would say, "Wish I could have some hot soup" Out comes my pop can stove. I'm a camper/backpacker. I'm ready for everything!!!
