shake everything out (outside of course) to get the loose stuff off before washing
Be sure to wear a mask while cleaning up. And be sure to disinfect everything. You need to be careful of hantavirus. Anything that puts you in contact with fresh rodent urine, droppings, saliva or nesting materials can place you at risk for infection.
