Ann -- I think you mean after 1965 (and I would agree since I had one of the early 1970's and I too junked it because I did not want anyone else to have the lemon.
Your right, I do mean after 1965. Thanks for catching that. I have several Singer machines that I have acquired since the unfortunate incident with the uncooperative machine that are dated prior to the 1960's and not a single problem with any of them. There is a reason they continue to be around so long while the newer ones end up on the junk pile. Ann in Tn
