They do make different thicknesses of the Fusible Fleece. I use 987 for the inside lining, inside pockets and the handle. I use the heavy weight fleece for just the outside of the bag. I like my bags a little firmer. I did try the 987 for the whole bag one time, but didn't feel it was firm enough. This way works out great for me and no problem sewing any of it.
