It makes me sad that Singers aren't made with the quality that the old machines were. I have many antique/vintage Singers, they're wonderful machines. Around 1980 is when Singer started
producing the crappy machines; they only gotten worse through the years.
You should've bought a Viking. Not being flippant, I used to sell the new Singers and Vikings. Unfortunately the new Singers aren't up to snuff. :(
