I had a similar experience in the LQS when I first moved to this area and didn't seek out a guild for that reason. I have since met some really nice ladies who do belong to a guild and I have been thinking about joining but they meet on a day that I have another obligation so I could only go occasionally.
I'd go again and keep an eye out for another visitor to see if you can make sure she has a good experience and maybe find a quilting buddy. It's hard to be the new kid on the block and you'd think adults would behave better than children but it is not always the case.When they have a project and need workers you'll fit it just fine
