I would have left as well. I would likely write a letter to the Guild explaining my reasons for leaving and my disappointment in their lack of welcoming from their membership.
Perhaps they are not aware of their lack of hospitality, their members attitudes toward guests and speakers - perhaps they need a little "attitude" adjustment.
