No, I'm very happy with my Janome. It's just that after so many,(very many) years of sewing with a flat foot and no metal pieces sticking out, I just couldn't and/or didn't have the patience to put up with that piece of metal. I found that I was pushing the material up against that little metal tab and really screwing up the seam.
