I had the same thought as you about what the Dr said about poor blood flow causing the carpal tunnel. However, if the swelling in the wrist area (which impinges on the nerve) is bad enough, I think the blood flow could be impeded.

I 100% agree that seeing a specialist is a requirement for treating carpal tunnel syndrome.
