Just had arthroscopic release done this past July---absolutely amazing outcome. Once the tunnel is compressed---it's compressed--I was told you can prevent it from getting worse but it doesn't get better. I wore a brace for 2 years, it helped, but it never goes away (must add, I had the release done 15 years ago---and that "butchering" was what caused the 2 year delay---sorry I waited. Technology has come a LONG way!!! Able to move my fingers immediately after surgery, back to work (medical office receptionist-phones, appts (all done the old fashioned way--writing), typing, filing) in 2 weeks.
