They don't have to all be the same size. Draw a square one half or one third the size of the quilt top. Place the picture somewhere in the square, fill in the rest of the square with a variety of pieced blocks and pieced and appliqued filler strips. Do the same for the next one but put the picture in a different part of the square you draw. It'll add a whole lot more interest to your quilt.
