They aren't that hard and the fabric packs are a really big help if you do not live in an area with access to a lot of fabric shops for locating the fabric you need. I made the one with the golden cat and the sunflowers for my sister after only quilting for 18 months. It turned out very well. I had made only 3 quilts at the time. Good luck Sometimes you need only small pieces of the fabric and if you try to order online sometimes the smallest you can buy is 1/2 a yd.
