Well normally I would block the quilt prior to binding it, but I forgot! LOL
Blocking is not the same as squaring up. I rarely have to do either to my quilts, but my lonestars are ALWAYS wonky, I never get them quite right.

To block a quilt, I wet it thoroughly by submersing it in water, gently squeeze out as much water as possible without "wringing" the quilt, and then I pin it to a blocking board (styrofoam sheets covered in flannel), using 2 laser squares to make it all perfect, and pinning it to dry that way.

I always square up my quilts before I put on the binding.
