Well normally I would block the quilt prior to binding it, but I forgot! LOL
Blocking is not the same as squaring up. I rarely have to do either to my quilts, but my lonestars are ALWAYS wonky, I never get them quite right.

To block a quilt, I wet it thoroughly by submersing it in water, gently squeeze out as much water as possible without "wringing" the quilt, and then I pin it to a blocking board (styrofoam sheets covered in flannel), using 2 laser squares to make it all perfect, and pinning it to dry that way.

What do you mean by Block??? And how do you do it?
I always square up my quilts before I put on the binding.
Oh by the way your work is beautiful.

I have blocked a large wall hanging after sewing the binding on the quilt. Had a lot of machine quilting in swirlls and it made some areas heavier and it did not hang straight.

A friend told me how to block it. I wet it completely and laid it on a large dry towel on top of my patio table and weighted down the 4 corners. My table is very open metal work and the air can dry it from underneath. I may have even put a dry towel on top of it. I think it took a good 24 hours to dry, but looks perfect now. Love your Lone Star.
