I got my Kindle a couple of months ago, after eye surgery. I've always been an avid reader, but failing eyesight in recent years have curtailed this enjoyment.
I'm once again a reading "fiend" LOL.
I spend a lot of time at the VA Hospital, and time flies when I'm reading a favorite novel or studing the Bible, in preparation for Bible Study class on Sunday morning. Research capabilities are great too.
It does all kinds of "stuff" but I bought it mainly for the book selections and I love it. I think my favorite feature it the abillity to enlarge the font size that is comfortable for me.
There are 3 priced versions on Amazon, pick the one that offers the things that are important to you. I got the middle priced one.
I'm sure other members can give you more info, but for me, the reader is perfect
