We were on our way back from Gettysburg, PA the other day when we decided to stretch our legs at a thrift shop. FIRST thing that caught my eye was a sign "fabric - 4 pieces for $1.00". What! So I asked if that sign was correct - it was. Mom and dived right in, well, what else would you have done? The person, I would say lady here but we have some men quilter's and I do not want to slight them by assuming, had stored them in moth balls, so the smell was tantalizing. She got this one piece of fabric, 6yds for quarter, that I wanted for a civil war dress. I was nice and let her have it, much to my disappointment. She came away from there with somewhere around 15 yds and only spent $2.00. I got some Hoffman fabric and some wool, silk, cotton and mixes for about $6.00. It was a heady experience. We will be going by there again next month. Good news, I stopped at mom's house last night and she gave me that green fabric. Now to make that civil war dress.
