Hawaii is the destination vacation place for many Alaskans during the winter. It's fairly close and 5 hours of flying time. Been there many times myself and just loved it. Last trip was with group and we rode bikes around the Big Island, wonderful time. Wish I could live there too! Enjoy every day of it. Eat lost of fresh fruit and good luck in the house hunting.
