I'm very glad to hear that you think blue, yellow, and red go well together! That's what I'm planning to use for a baby quilt for my sister's (eventual) baby.
I think I'd go with a red&white print, and a very creamy tone-on-tone yellow to meld the two together.
Who is the quilt for? Male, female? Someone who likes bright & bold colours or someone who has a more mellow personality?

i love red, yellow, and blue together.
i'm working on one right now. the red is a reddish pink. its a self portrait, with NY Beauties in the corners, and the black strip of fabric will be flying geese.
