I love tradition. No one in my family quilted so I thought someone should. I do all kinds of things the way they "used to be done." Quilting is one of them. There is more satisfaction putting a hand made quilt on a bed than buying a blanket at a store. I love the tradition of the quilting bee. In our small town there used to be a group of ladies who gathered every week to work on a quilt on a frame. They have all passed now.

I hang my laundry outside. I bake our bread. I make our soap and laundry soap. I can knit if needed, crochet with yarn or thread, embroider, cross-stitch, upholster, grow as much of our own food as possible and preserve it, and try to make whatever we need instead of buying it.
