Bernina is the way to go. My first Bernina is now 35 years old and going strong. Can do anything I ask of it and it has never needed repairs. When I retired a few years ago, I invested in the 440QE for ease more than anything else. LOVE both of them. The knee lift is a must. Its the third hand you always seem to need. Not sure if your peddle allows you to raise and lower your needle from there or not--if so --another great thing to get used to. Very handy.
