I love to do applique. I think the heart is one of the easiest patterns. The way I like to applique is by using fusible or non-fusible webbling. It is very easy. 1. Trace your pattern on the webbing. 2. Roughly cut it out - leaving at least 1/2 inch around pattern. 3. Pin to right side of fabric and sew on the traced line. 4. Cut the pattern out with a small seam (about 1/4 inch, but doesn't have to be exact. 5. Cut a slit or two in the the fusible webbing. 6. turn it inside out - fabic to the front and webbing in the back. 7. Stitch applique piece to the background piece using either a blanket stitch or a hemming stitch or any decorative stitch you like
