It would be nice for her to have a newer machine Brother makes a nice embroidery/sewing/quilting machine and not super expensive and comes with feet and a bunch of other things. I wouldn't get rid of the old machine and I would hope MIL isn't upset is just happy for her and especially when daughter makes her something pretty and also she knows she has learned a lot on her machine and has to move on so she can do other things.
