I'm loving the Kobo reader I won at a conference earlier this year! I usually give lots of books at Christmas and other celebrations too, and we usually share the books from house to house. That IS tougher with the e-readers. But the lending library system is wonderful - always find something fun to read.
I can see e-readers being just fine for teaching little ones to read - maybe except they won't like being poked and chewed
