Take it to the manager and ask to swap it with another - if they replace it, they're about customer service. If they don't let you swap it for another, that says something else entirely. I find it hard to believe that anyone would intentionally let this slip into the general merchandise - it's possible that in the process of cutting up end-of-bolt fabric, the employee(s) got "in the zone" and missed the flaw.
