When I took my PP class, we used size 75/11 needle and shortened the stitch length from the standard setting. The instructor remarked that using a larger needle was like driving a spike in the wall to hang a picture. The smaller needle makes a finer hole, thus allowing the paper to tear more freely from the fabric. I have used this for all of my PP and have not had any problems, even using regular copy paper.
