I have one that belonged to my MIL's MIL in California. Originally bought 7/12/1939 and I was born 7/12/1940.
My MIL sent it home with me a few years ago and my brother wrapped rope around the case and made a carrying handle for to get it home on the plane. What fun that was! Before all the security now but they called me aside to ask what it was. Must have looked like a machine gun taken apart. Anyway I said a little sewing machine and they said OK that's what they thought and let me go through. I brought it home as a carry-on. It has the original manual, all the acessories and original sales receipt and her payment book. I love it and it sounds like a 'little Singer'.
