Default Sesame Toffee

I made this and took it to our Christmas Quilting Retreat. It was such a big hit I thought I'd put it on here too.

1 stick of butter
1 cup of sugar
1 cup of sesame seeds
1 2-2 1/2" 'dollop' of white Karo syrup

Melt butter in a large skillet over med to med high heat
add sugar and pour in about a 2 or 2 1/2" glob of white Karo syrup
cook over med heat --- stirring almost constantly--until mixture starts to turn light gold.
add sesame seeds and stir in
cook just a little while longer until mixture gets just a little more gold but not too much or it will taste burnt

spread out on buttered foil and allow to cool
while it's still hot you can score it with a large knife if you want.
when it's cool and hard, break into small pieces and store in an air tight container or baggie

You can substitute almond slivers, peanuts or even pour over popcorn!
