Yes, practice for this is sooooo important! Make yourself a sandwich that is exactly the same as the quilt and then sew straight lines, circles, loopty loops, sew fast, sew slowly and really check the tension and stitches for everything you do. Write down the best tension you find on a piece of tape and stick it to your machine so you won't forget what it is if for any reason you have to break down what you're quilting in order to sew something else. This is an awesome way to quilt if you have great fabric for the backing. And so easy!!!! Have fun!
