What a shame you lost yours. It isn't too late to start again! I found the love of it always stayed with me, even though for many many many years I didn't work on it or even give it much thought. Start with either just US comemoratives (those are the interesting ones) or one foreign country, or one theme (like dogs, cats, flowers etc) and collect just those.
