I'm so sorry you have to go through this...what a bummer. Do let us know how it turns out. And the plug you gave for renter's insurance is very important. My DD and SIL lost almost everything in an apartment fire a few years ago. A kid playing with fire crackers set a bush on fire, which set the building on fire. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Twelve families lost some possessions, my daughter and the apartment next door took the brunt of the damage and lost almost everything, including three quilts made by SIL's grandmother. Only one other family besides them had renters' insurance. They were able to get back on their feet again with the insurance check.
