you should talk to her insurance co. about sending someone in to "air out" your apt. we had something like this happen to us. we live on the bottom floor someone on the top (third) floor behind us caught their dryer on fire and the spinklers went off. 60 gallons of water a second makes a HUGE mess when they are going off for about an hour. everything in my cabinets had to go, my sewing machine got wet, a computer, bunches of fabric. They had to have a restoration company come in and bring big fans and make sure that everything got dried out in the right amount of time (before mold could grow) becaue mold grows VERY easy in drywall. which can cause health problems down the road!
