Thats what I found when I was there a few weeks ago. It was upholstery type fabric and heaver canvas weight fabric. Yes it was cheaper, but not made for quilting, or at least at the store here in phoenix there wasn't quilting fabric. Yes, you had to cut it yourself. As for thread, it was heaver upholstery thread.
